Fort Collins Police Search For Sexual Assault Suspect

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a Fort Collins apartment on Tuesday and sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman.

The attack happened on Remington Street not far from the Colorado State University campus.

It was still dark outside when the incident occurred and the victim says she woke up to find a man in her bed.

Police say the man claimed that he had a weapon before he attacked her.

The victim told police she thought the intruder got into her home through an unlocked front door.

After speaking to the victim at the hospital where she went to be checked out after the attack, authorities were able to create a sketch of the person they are looking for.

He is described as being a stocky white man in his 40's. He is about 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds with curly brown hair and a receding hair line. He was wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans at the time of the attack.

Officers have been patroling the street where the attack happened.
