Fisherman Finds Leak In Avon Lake
AVON, Colo. (AP) - After weeks of watching the water in Nottingham Lake slowly disappear, Avon officials now have an answer.
A fisherman has found a hole in a liner for the 15-acre lake.
Town engineer Jeff Schneider tried dropping milk in the water to see if it would start to swirl. People from Beaver Divers came to the lake and found nothing.
It took Avon resident Harry Chu to find a hole about two inches in diameter and about 18 inches deep after he saw a leaf going down the drain.
According to the Vail Daily, the lake now is about 7 feet lower than its usual level and town officials are considering replacing the liner.
