FEMA Corps Trained To Help During Disasters
DENVER (CBS4) - An eager group of young adults took the charge to help others at a ceremony Friday morning.
The 188 people trained in Denver for the FEMA Corps, a new service that sends people to help during disasters and the recovery process.
The trainees were warned to expect to be discouraged at times, but to know their work is important.
"By doing something to resolve the issue is better than nothing," a trainer said. "We can't save everyone, but the keys to success is coming to terms with that reality and putting 110 percent towards those that you can help."
FEMA Corps was launched last fall and is partnership between FEMA and AmeriCorps.
