Ex-Janitor In Fort Collins Gets 20-To-Life For Sex Assault
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - A 76-year-old former janitor at an elementary school and Fort Collins gymnastics center has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting two young girls multiple times.
Prosecutors say the charges against Doyle Ford involved incidents from 1997 to 2002. The charges were filed last year after one of the victims, now a teenager, came forward and said Doyle assaulted her at a gymnastics center when she was between 5 and 7 years old.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, Ford didn't address the court Tuesday. Public Defender Erin Richmond is appealing the conviction.
