Ellicott School Board Member Arrested For Allegedly 'Sexting'
ELLICOTT, Colo. (CBS4) - A school board member has been arrested, accused of "sexting" a teenager in the town of Ellicott in eastern El Paso County.
Stefanie Dickinson, 37, faces a charge of internet luring of a child. Police said the boy who was being sent the sexual text messages is 14 years old and a friend of Dickinson's son.
According to the arrest affidavit, the sexting went on for about a month and made several references to sex acts and her expertise at performing them. Some examples are as follows:
-- "Oh hell no baby ... I just want u"
-- "Baby I will rock ur effing world!! Haha"
-- "I will work on not being scared so something can happen (smiley face)."
The teen told police one text from "Stef" said she would give him a massage and "give him a full examination" after he complained about hurting after football practice. Another read, "you can't tell anyone about this at all because I could lose my family."
According to the arrest papers, the inappropriate texting started in August after the boy went with Dickinson and her family on a camping trip. He said that Dickinson asked for his phone number so she could send him pictures from the trip and that's when the sexting allegedly began.
Investigators say in one instance Dickinson told the boy not to tell anyone because she could lose her family.
The boy's sister found the messages on his phone. She told her parents about what she found and that's when the parents called detectives.
The warrant says the two never actually met for sex. Dickinson is out of jail on $3,000 bond. She's on administrative leave from Memorial Hospital, where she works part time. A recall petition to get Dickinson removed from the Ellicott school board was already under way before her arrest.
