AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora arrested a Department of Corrections officer for his involvement in an accident that sent a family to the hospital. Police said at the time of the crash, his blood tested more than three times the legal limit.

Jason Ulrich, 38, was arrested on Thursday for charges of vehicular assault relating to alcohol and vehicular assault related to reckless driving.

Police said Ulrich had a blood alcohol level of .252 grams of ethyl alcohol per 100ml of blood. Colorado has a presumptive level of .08 in which a person is believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
