Denver Man Convicted In Wife's Death Sentenced

DENVER (AP) - A man convicted of killing of his wife in what prosecutors say was a suicide pact has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Denver District's Attorney's office says Keenu Tiyme, 37, was sentenced Friday and was taken to the Colorado Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.

Jurors found Tiyme guilty of first-degree murder in May. He had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Prosecutors say Tiyme rented a Denver motel room in October 18, 2008 for what investigators believe was a suicide pact with his wife, Kauri Tiyme. A motel housekeeper found her body and authorities say Keenu Tiyme fled and was arrested in New Mexico days later.
