4 CU Boulder Students Suspended After University Hill Riot
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - At least four University of Colorado Boulder students were suspended for their role in a riot on University Hill in March.
University officials say the names of 96 current students at CU have been referred to them as possible people who were present. Some of the referrals didn't include any evidence or other information that would help make a determination. So far, a total of 43 students were found to have violated university policy and were placed on probation.
There were other people involved who are not students at the university, according to officials. Names submitted of those who were rioting who were found not to be students "included some of the most extreme attacks on law enforcement," according to an article on CU's website.
At least seven people faced charges varying from violating a public health order to second degree assault on a peace officer.
Tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage was caused to civilian and city property.
