Spring Football Practices Underway For CSU Rams
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - The CSU Rams practiced indoors on Thursday for their first day in pads during spring football practices.
There's a big focus in Fort Collins on the quarterback position. Nick Stevens, last year's starter, is back but he has some competition.
Head Coach Mike Bobo, who is now in his second year, said he wants competition at all positions this spring so that everyone is better prepared in September.
"We want to get them to the point where they're dog tired, where they feel like they have nothing left and realize that they can go a little bit harder, because we don't ever put them at that point where it's the fourth quarter in that first game against Colorado, we won't know what to reach for. So we've got to learn to continuously compete for a full practice," Bobo said.
The CSU Rams first game is the Rocky Mountain Showdown against the CU Buffaloes at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sept. 2.
