Small Fire Along Big Thompson Is 75 Percent Contained
LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - A small wildfire in the Big Thompson Canyon in northern Colorado is 75 percent contained.
Fire managers say they expect the 3-acre blaze in the Roosevelt National Forest to be fully contained by mid-day Thursday.
A single-engine air tanker dropped slurry on the fire Wednesday.
The fire is burning west of Loveland on a steep slope above U.S. 34, one of the main routes to and from Rocky Mountain National Park. The highway remains open.
