Crews Try To Keep Big Meadows Fire North Of Tonahutu Creek
ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - The plan for the Big Meadows Fire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park is to keep it north of Tonahutu Creek.
The fire burning 11 miles west of Estes Park and about 10 miles east of Grand Lake.
Lightning sparked the fire Monday, but Tuesday's winds fanned it, spreading it to 500 acres.
No communities or structures are threatening but seven trails are closed in the area.
There are 97 people on the fire lines and 130 more are expected Wednesday night.
