Crews Let Grass Fire Burn Near Highway 7
BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Smoke billowed up along Highway 7 near Brighton this afternoon after crews allowed a brush fire to keep burning.
Firefighters contained the small grass fire north of Highway 7 along the South Platte River. The fire was reported around noon.
They allowed the fuels inside the fire lines burn. Those fuels include cottonwood trees, dead trees and grasses.
The fire burned between 20-25 acres.
What caused the fire is being investigated.
