Company Hopes To Build Elevated Monorail From Boulder To Longmont
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Two Colorado cities are considering a proposal to revolutionize transportation.
A company called SkyTran Colorado wants to build an elevated monorail between Boulder and Longmont. The track would run alongside Highway 119.
Renderings from the company show what it would look like (all images courtesty SkyTran Colorado):
SkyTran Colorado staff told the Daily Camera that the system would use two passenger pods powered by a magnetic field, and that speeds could reach as fast as 150 mph.
The $250 million project would be built with funding from private investors.
An informational meeting is set for this Thursday at the Boulder Public Library.
