Committee Approves Express Toll Lane On C-470
DENVER (CBS4) - "Tolled" express lanes -- that's the final recommendation from the group that has spent two years studying the congestion on C-470.
Drivers will pay as they go instead of seeing sales or property tax increases to pay for the widening.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will now do its own traffic and revenue studies and work to get money to widen 13 miles of the highway between Kipling and Interstate 25.
The C-470 Corridor Committee unanimously approved the express lane plan. Construction could begin in as little as two years.
