Colorado To Get $15M+ In Federal Grants To Improve Highways
DENVER (CBS4)- Colorado is getting more than $15 million in federal grants to improve highways and other transportation.
Some of that money, $3.7 million, will help widen Interstate 225 in Aurora. The stretch between Parker Road and Mississippi is only two lanes in each direction. The rest of I-225 will eventually bet at least three lanes in each direction.
Other projects include replacing the Pecos Street bridge over Interstate 70, resurfacing the Mesa Verde National Park Interchange on Highway 160, and $650,000 to install 20 bike-sharing stations in downtown Denver.
The Federal Highway Administration said the grants will improve transportation and also create jobs.
