Colorado Rockies extend alcohol sales to end of eighth inning after MLB rule changes speed up game
The Colorado Rockies have made some changes to alcohol sales at home games in Denver, extending those sales until the end of the eighth inning. The change will take effect with the team's next home game at Coors Field on April 17.
The Rockies made the change due to the recent Major League Baseball rule changes. The new pitch clock rules mean the action is faster and games are shorter.
The average game time was down 31 minutes over the first week-and-a-half of the 2023 season.
Traditionally, MLB stadiums have ended beer sales after the seventh inning. The Associated Press reported that the league doesn't regulate when teams sell alcohol.
The Rockies face the Pittsburgh Pirates in a three game series that begins on Monday.
