Colorado Rapids Land Designated Player With Premier League Experience
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Rapids on Monday signed designated player Kevin Doyle who has experience playing in the Premier League this season.
Doyle, a 6-foot striker, played for the Wolverhampton Wanderers and has had a "high-caliber career in English football since joining Reading in 2005, scoring 92 goals in 357 appearances overall," according to the Rapids.
Doyle is the third designated player signed by the club in franchise history.
Doyle says he should be ready to play in 7 to 10 days.
The club is holding a meet-and-greet for fans at the Celtic Tavern at 5.30 p.m. on Monday,
Doyle adds instant offense for the Rapids who are currently last in the Western Conference.
