Colorado Company Gets A Lot Of Air Time During The Super Bowl
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A company from Fort Collins is playing a big role in this weekend's Super Bowl. Fiberlok designed the game logo that every player will wear on his uniform.
Some will be watching the big game to see which team takes home the Lombardi trophy. Others will be watching the commercials. One Fort Collins man will have all eyes on the players' uniforms.
"The big excitement today, right now is the Super Bowl coming up Sunday," said Fiberlok CEO Brown Abrams.
Abrams is the CEO of the Fort Collins company Fiberlok that created the Super Bowl XLVII emblems.
"This will be on all the players on the left chest on the jerseys and on all the caps on the right side of the hat everybody, everywhere you'll see wearing them," said Abrams.
For about 15 years Abrams has had a contract with the NFL to create the Super Bowl emblems but this year the technology they use to make the emblems is the flashiest they've ever been.
"It's new technology which people don't expect. It's a molded metalized film," said Abrams.
Chances are good that football fans have seen a Fiberlok product worn before.
"We've done the Pro Bowl which was last week," said Abrams.
The company created the World Series emblems from last fall. They also outfit UPS employees.
"UPS drivers worldwide wear our product," said Abrams.
Abrams said even though this isn't the company's first Super Bowl, it is still a thrill to see his product on a huge stage.
"A lot of people are going to see this on television and wonder what are they looking at because this has never been done before. There's a lot of pride we have in doing that," said Abrams.
