WB I-76 Wreck Following Police Chase

June 22, 2012 5:25 AM

A wreck is causing big delays on Westbound I-76 at Sheridan.  Only one lane is open to drivers.

Colorado State Patrol says a Ford Explorer crashed early Friday morning.  A trooper approached the Explorer to check on the two people inside, but the driver sped off.

The trooper chased after Explorer until it wrecked again, this time in a roll-over.

A 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were inside the Explorer, both have been taken to the hospital.

The Colorado State Patrol confirms that vehicle was reported stolen last week.

Both Westbound and Southbound drivers are being affected by the slow-downs in the area.

Furrrrday: Bring Your Dog to Work!

June 22, 2012 5:16 AM

Today is "Take Your Dog to Work Day".  Our furry friends always wonder where we go all day.  Here's your chance to teach them how to help you file paperwork!

This is nothing new.  According to Pet Sitters International, "Take Your Dog to Work Day" debuted back in 1999.  This year, thousands of pet owners are expected to extend an invitation to the office - and a leash – to their dogs.

In 2005, more than 37,000 people downloaded information about the event.

But wait, this is better: A 2005 poll by the American Animal Hospital Association found that 33 percent of owners call home during the day so their pets can hear their voice.

The goal of Take Your Dog To Work is to "celebrate the great companions dogs make and to promote pet adoptions from shelters, humane societies and rescue groups."

Check the rules at work before you show up with Fido in tow.  Pet Sitters International advises that "employers… ensure that their general liability policy covers the event and specific guidelines should be in place for employees who plan to bring dogs."

If your dog is unfriendly — ever — to other pets or people, leave them at home. Celebrate by bringing in a photo.

New report shows worst bacteria in hotels

June 18, 2012 5:40 AM

A new study by the University of Houston found the most bacteria in hotels on bedside lamps switches and t.v. remotes.  Now, whether that bacteria could actually make you sick, researchers say they don't know.

Hotel room items with the lowest amount of contamination include the headboard, curtain rods, and the bathroom door handle.
