Car Show Raises Nearly $8,000 For Aurora Theater Shooting Victim
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4)- The 8th annual Cool Colors of Autumn Car and Bike Show helped raise nearly $8,000 for one victim in the Aurora theater shooting.
All donations were given directly to the family of Ashley Moser for the fund to help with her medical bills and expenses. She is paralyzed and also miscarried after the shooting.
Moser's daughter, 6-year-old Veronica Moser-Sullivan, was among 12 people killed in the July 20 shooting.
Moser's family was at the car show helping collect donations and meeting community members.
More than 200 cars were in the show organized by The Highlands Ranch Hod Rodders.
Club founder George Racz and Ashley's cousin Mark Martinez were pleasantly surprised that they were able to raise $7,800 for Moser.
Donations were made by not only the car owners, but also by a number of the vendors who also gave a portion of their profits.
CBS4's Dave Aguilera hosted the event on Sept. 30 at the Home Depot in Highlands Ranch located at 1200 Mayberry Road.
Aguilera handed out awards in 16 categories.
