Car Flies Into Home Narrowly Missing Sleeping Woman Inside

EDGEWATER, Colo. (CBS4) - West Metro firefighters responded to a home on West 26th Avenue early Sunday morning after a car plowed into it. Investigators say the car went through the outside wall and into a bedroom.

The car barely missed a woman sleeping inside. Tammy Sanchez says the car hit a stump outside which she believes is the reason why the car ended up sideways in the home, and the reason she's still alive.

"I think that God was watching over me and the dogs because the dogs were in the room and even the guy in the car because he survived," she said.

She says she saw the car go past her bed. She jumped out of the bedroom window because she saw what appeared to be smoke and didn't know if the car was going to catch fire.

She says the driver was kicking the car window, trying to get out.
