Police Arrest Suspect In Assaults
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Boulder have arrested a suspect after an assault that left one man seriously injured. Officers also believe he was involved in another incident in the same area just a few hours earlier.
Officers rushed to the area of Baseline and 27th Street in Boulder about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they found a 43-year-old man with serious injuries. That man was rushed to the hospital.
Officers took James Dobson into custody as a person of interest and then later identified him as a suspect after he was arrested. They believe the attack happened as a result of some sort of fight between Dobson and the victim.
Investigators also believe Dobson, 56, was involved in an attack at the same location at 10:30 p.m. Monday. A 50-year-old man was rushed to the hospital and police said he suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say both victims' injuries were consistent with beatings, although investigators are awaiting more information from medical personnel.
Dobson will be charged with second-degree attempted murder, as well as first-, second- and third-degree assault. He has been booked into the Boulder County Jail.
