Body Found In Grant-Frontier Park

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police were called out early Sunday morning after a body was found in a popular park.

A man was found dead in the parking lot. The body was found in Grant-Frontier Park southwest of the intersection of Evans and Santa Fe.

Officers closed the park for hours. They say it's a suspicious death. There was a search for a possible murder weapon.

The coroner took the body away. Police haven't identified that man or said how he died.

Police said the man was found face down with his pants pulled down to his knees.

Some people who live above the park in a small, pocket of a neighborhood say they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. While some homeless people often sleep behind the VFW, some say it's typically a safe, quiet place to live where everyone watches out for one another.

The plan is to get the autopsy done Monday.
