Woman's Body Found In Animas River, Deemed Suspicious
DURANGO, Colo. (AP) — Police are investigating the death of a Durango woman whose body was found in the Animas River on Saturday.
The Durango Herald reports 42-year-old Karen Michelle Reyes's boyfriend reported her missing Saturday morning. He told police he had not seen her since Friday night, when she left her home to walk her two dogs and they returned without her.
A fly fisherman spotted her body about 12:30 p.m. Saturday and called 911. Her body was found just under the surface of the water near the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
Lt. Darrell Robertson says the death is suspicious and that police are awaiting a pathologist report on its cause.
