Bed Bug Fears Doom Proposal To End Colorado Inspections
DENVER (AP) - Bed bug fears have doomed a Colorado proposal to repeal a law regulating how mattresses can be resold.
Sponsors of the measure in the Colorado Senate shelved the proposal Wednesday. The measure would have repealed Colorado's Bedding Act, which requires that beds be sanitized before they can be resold. The bill was a move to cut red tape.
Senators who shelved the measure cited bed bugs. Improperly renovated mattresses have been blamed for spreading the critters.
