Park County Sheriff Tom McGraw first confirmed on Wednesday the red Volvo associated with Lyle in connection with the East High School shooting had been found, and confirmed a body was found nearby.

A cause or manner of death for Lyle was not shared in the coroner's Facebook post.

Denver police said an East High student shot two deans inside the school on Wednesday morning. Police officers rushed to the school at 9:50 a.m. on reports of the threat which triggered a lockdown.

Denver Public Schools confirmed that the two victims were both adult males and their names are Eric Sinclair and Jerald Mason. One, Mason, was released from the hospital and the other remained in the hospital overnight and was listed in serious condition.

The student was known to police and had agreed to a safety plan with the school to be searched daily.

"As part of a safety plan they were undergoing a search, as part of that search a weapon was retrieved, a handgun was retrieved, and several shots were fired, striking those two individuals, that individual then fled the school and we do know who that individual is and a search is underway to try to locate that particular individual," said Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas.

DPD said officers first searched an apartment building near Congress Park and did not locate the suspect.

East High School will not have classes for the rest of the week. DPS begins spring break on Friday afternoon.

The Denver Board of Education will meet on Thursday to discuss safety.

Two armed officers will be posted at the school for the rest of the school year, according to DPS.
