Aurora Latest To Join 'Medina Alert Program' To Find Hit & Run Drivers
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora has joined the effort to try and quickly find drivers involved in hit-and-run accidents.
The city is now the latest city to participate in the "Medina Alert Program." Alerts are sent out so everyone can be on the lookout for a hit-an-run driver.
"I feel like I'm preaching to the choir here when I say what makes this outstanding is that it's a community response to something anyone of us could be a victim of," Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler said.
The Medina Alert has already been a success in the city of Denver. It's named after Jose Medina, a parking valet killed in a hit-and-run in Denver in 2011.
