Arsonists Strike Again In Longmont

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Longmont said arsonists who torched three cars in one neighborhood, have struck again.

Officers said vandals tried to set another car on fire Thursday.

Early Wednesday morning three cars were set on fire and several other vehicles were broken into on Cornell Drive and on Northwestern Drive.

One couple heard their son yelling and rushed outside to find their car in flames. A second car was set on fire a few houses down. Police say the vandals also broke into four other cars.

Volunteers spent the day canvassing the neighborhood, warning residents and trying to get leads.

So far police don't have any suspects but they think the vandals may be middle school or high school students.

In all, three cars were set on fire and ten were broken into early Wednesday morning. The vandals tried to set another car on fire on Thursday.
