Anonymous Donor Helps Save Outdoor Lab Schools In Jefferson County
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- An anonymous donor has helped save a middle school tradition in Colorado. The Outdoor Lab Schools, at risk of closing because of budget cuts, will continue in Jefferson County.
Sixth graders spend a week at the schools to learn about science and the environment. Parents raised about half the money needed to keep them open and the donor gave the rest, about $99,500.
The district is giving grants to cover the rest of the program. The student fee will increase by $100 to help support the program.
