Alleged Sex Assault Victim Claims Suspect Promised To Help With Immigration Status

DENVER (CBS4)- A man who allegedly promised his victim that he would help her with her immigration status has been arrested on sexual assault charges.

Ricardo Gonzales Gutierrez, 43, has been charged with one count of sexual assault by Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.

Gutierrez's victim claims she let him could stay with her in exchange for help with her immigration status.

The charges allege that on June 10, Gutierrez sexually assaulted a 43-year-old woman in her home in northeast Denver. The victim told police she had been letting Gutierrez stay in her home in exchange for his help in completing immigration documents.

Gutierrez remains in custody at the Denver Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 18 to be formally advised of the charges.
