Adams County Commissioners Implement Reforms

DENVER (CBS4)- Adams County Commissioners implemented a series of reforms after allegations of corruption and waste.

The reforms include changes to the purchasing process which now require competitive bids on all projects worth more than $25,000. Commissioners will also hire an independent internal auditor and adopt an expanded code of ethics.

The reforms follow a series of controversial actions involving county workers and politicians.The controversial actions include a deal with a paving company the county claims cheated taxpayers of nearly $2 million.
