Accounting Glitch Turns Up In State's Budget
DENVER (CBS4) - The state of Colorado has found itself with an extra $75 million on Wednesday.
Officials spotted an accounting glitch in the budget.
It's not a huge amount of money -- actually it's only 1 percent of the general fund budget.
Last month Gov. John Hickenlooper said the state's budget shortfall is so bad that state parks and a prison needed to be closed. He also talked about cutting hundreds of millions of dollars from K-12 education.
The new adjustment could bring good news to Colorado's schools.
While the extra money won't make a large impact, it could mean a boost for schools.
