5 Injured After Car Pinned Under Semi On I-25

DENVER (CBS4)- Five people were rushed to the hospital after the car they were riding in ended up underneath a semi truck.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 near the I-25 and Interstate 70 interchange about 1:40 p.m. Friday.

Police interviewed witnesses to find out what happened leading up to the crash. Police said the semi driver was at fault.

Five people were rushed to Denver Health Medical Center with injuries ranging from severe to minor. The driver was pinned in the vehicle for a time until firefighters were able to free that person.

Copter4 flew over the crash where a few firetrucks and other emergency vehicles had blocked traffic. Traffic was backed up for miles at 3:20 p.m. Friday.
