2 Dead After Apparent Murder-Suicide At Apartment Complex In Littleton
LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - A husband and wife were found dead in an apartment complex in Littleton after a possible murder-suicide.
Firefighters rushed to the The Cherrywood apartments at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday on a medical call. When they arrived they found a man dead inside and then rushed a woman to the hospital where she later died.
Both suffered gunshot wounds and a gun was found in the apartment.
They were parents to two teenage boys, who were not home at the time of the shooting. The boys are now staying with family.
"We're at the very initial stages of the investigation. We have no reason to believe there's anybody at large in the community that's a danger to the community," Cmdr. Trent Cooper with Littleton Police said. "Right now we're just in the process of assessing the scene and trying to figure out what we have and what happened here."
Identities have not yet been released, and investigators currently don't have a motive for the apparent murder-suicide.
