1 Dead In Rollover Crash On I-25 At 128th Avenue
THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - One person was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 25 near 128th Avenue on Tuesday morning. All southbound lanes of I-25 were closed for nearly six hours during the accident investigation and cleanup.
All lanes were reopened just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
There were three vehicles involved in the rollover crash.
Thornton Police Department information officer Matt Barnes told CBS4 that a vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes went airborne for some reason and flipped into the southbound lanes, striking two vehicles.
One person was killed and three others hurt.
All southbound lanes were closed at 136th Avenue until just after 5 p.m. Northbound lanes were reduced to one lane from 120th Avenue north past the crash.
There were significant backups in the area all day.
Cameras from the Colorado Department of Transportation showed traffic backups for miles.
