Thursday night, one man was killed and another was wounded in a Chatham neighborhood shooting, police said. The two men were inside a basement apartment about 9:55 p.m. in the 7900 block of South State when someone knocked on the door, and fired several shots when the door was opened.
A 15-year-old was shot and killed in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side about 10 p.m. Wednesday. Kimon Wheeler got into a fight with someone who then pulled out a gun and shot him in the back about 10 p.m. in the 4100 block of West Cullerton Street.
The most recent shooting happened Thursday night, after a teen who took himself to a hospital told investigators he was shot in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.
