The officers were responding to an emergency medical service call of a man not breathing about 4:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Marshfield, according to a statement from Chicago Police. The officers were met by the victim's family who said the man was not breathing.
The most recent fatal shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 2:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of West 69th Place found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the hip, police said.

The most recent fatal shooting happened Saturday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood. Officers responding to a shots fired complaint about 11:15 a.m. in the 8100 block of South Chappel found a man unresponsive in an alley with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
About 8:50 p.m., the 34-year-old man was hit in the head with a gun in the 2000 block of West 68th Place, police said. After he was hit, the gun went off and he was shot in the hand.
A robbery Sunday evening in the Austin neighborhood left a man dead and an 8-year-old boy injured. Ron Hernandez, 45, was standing on the sidewalk about 5:55 p.m. in the 5200 block of West Washington when someone walked up and announced a robbery, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Neighbors said the victim, 44-year-old Miguel Haro was rehabbing a house with three other men in the 7200 block of South Hermitage Avenue, when Haro and another worker were approached by at least two men.
Willie Brown, 18, was charged with murder for the death of 4-month-old Demari Brown, whom he was watching on Sept. 26, 2013 at the child's home in the 6000 block of South Honore, authorities said. Brown was found not guilty of all charges Tuesday following a bench trial before Judge Vincent Gaughan, court records show.
