Two boys, ages 16 and 17, were standing on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Ingleside when someone walked up and fired shots at them. The younger boy suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he died.
Most recently, two men were shot late Thursday in the West Side Austin neighborhood. The men, ages 19 and 20, were standing outside in the 1500 block of North Linder about 10:25 p.m. when shots were fired in their direction from a group of males standing on the corner across the street, according to Chicago Police.
About 6 p.m., a man was shot to death less than two blocks from President Barack Obama's Kenwood home. The 25-year-old was in a vehicle when another vehicle approached, and someone in that vehicle fired shots, police said. The victim drove to the 1300 block of East 50th Street, where the vehicle came to a stop, police said.
