The victim lost control of his car and hit the 19-year-old pedestrian.
Police said the victim, an 86-year-old man from Niles, was crossing from West to East on Milwaukee Avenue and was struck by a 2017 Toyota RAV4.
The driver was issued a citation for failure to yield.
According to the Lemont Police Department, the victim was struck by an Amtrak train at the intersection of Main Street and Stephen Street.
The victim suffered trauma to the body and died at the scene.
