The hazmat response came after a maintenance worker poured a substance down a drain. No injuries were reported.
Marie Saavedra spent the afternoon at West Leyden High School, where she talked a star of the football team, the cheerleaders, and drum major from the marching band. Marie also ran through an eagle on a football field, and learned about the Leyden community’s annual Make a Difference Day and the Teatro Leyden Program.
