Officials in Highland, Indiana, said two tornado sirens were found to be malfunctioning after a tornado touched down in the town on Wednesday.
First responders later located the missing man, 73, in the water, and he was pronounced dead.
While property damage and power outages were widespread after three tornadoes touched down in Gary Wednesday night, there were no fatalities or major injuries reported. Andrew Ramos reports.
