The two people killed in a deadly mass shooting at a bar in Hammond, Indiana early Sunday morning have been identified, as charges against a person of interest are still pending.
Hammond police said a person of interest has been taken into custody in the shooting, and said his name will be released when charges are filed.
The office said that around 1:30 p.m., the Marine and Aviation Units had responded to a call about a flipped boat on Lake Michigan near the steel mill in East Chicago.
Firefighters had to use special equipment to cut another person out of the car.
Xavier E. Walker and a 17-year-old boy from Chicago were placed into custody.
The driver was a 26-year-old man from Illinois, who was taken to a Chicago correctional facility and will be extradited to Indiana.
