Police lights flood the 7000 block of West Archer Avenue in Garfield Ridge Friday just before 8 p.m. An argument quickly turned into a fight outside of the bar when a security guard with a concealed carry license was approached by two men, one of them armed.
Two men—ages 27 and 31—approached a bar employee, a 28-year-old man, in the 7000 block of West Archer Avenue who had a Concealed Carry license, police said. A quarrel ensued and became physical to the point of an exchange of gunfire, police said.
The shooting happened a little before 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, according to a message from Kinasha Brown, the superintendent of Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144.
Both victims were treated by fire crews and taken to Loyola Hospital in critical condition.
The ages of the victims range from 18 to 68.
Police said just after 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call at the parking lot in the 10200 block of Irving Park Road, where they found a 26-year-old man who had been shot.
Chicago police said officers arrived at the scene and found the man in the alley with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Darion McMillian was charged with first-degree murder of a police officer and several other counts.
