A new casino is taking bets in Chicago's south suburbs. The parking lot was packed at the Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino when it opened its doors in East Hazel Crest on Monday morning.
Bally's took possession of the River West property July 5.
Bally’s announced Friday that it has entered into a $940 million deal with Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., a real estate investment trust, for essential funding for its casino at Halsted Street and Chicago Avenue. Sara Machi reports.
Despite expectations for construction to begin this summer on a permanent Bally's casino in Chicago, a groundbreaking won't actually be held until the fall.

The money fell well short of expectations in Bally's first three months at their temporary site at The Medinah Temple in River North. CBS 2 Political Reporter Chris Tye digs into the numbers.
