Burglars targeted two restaurants where officers found broken glass and open cash registers.
It happened during the early morning hours in the McKinley Park and Armour Square neighborhoods.
It comes days after more than a dozen businesses in Highland Park and Morton Grove were burglarized in a similar pattern.
The burglary crew is already linked to smash-and-grabs in Chicago's North Mayfair neighborhood and north suburban Morton Grove.

Donovan George, 40, was arrested on Wednesday by the District RBT Mission Team and Chicago police detectives in the 1600 block of North 75th Court in Elmwood Park.
The burglaries occurred in the 6600 block of West Diversey Avenue between Jan. 18 and Feb. 27 during the morning and afternoon hours.
