An anonymous donor is giving the Brookfield Zoo the biggest single private donation in its history. The zoo is getting $40 million from a family described as having "a long history of support for the zoo."
"This significant gift will support the construction of Tropical Forests, featuring state-of-the-art outdoor and indoor environments for our great apes, as well as a series of exciting new animal habitats."
Online registration is closed but you can register when you get to the park.
Both race paths will take participants past many of the animals - including giraffes, lions, and kangaroos.
Several animals are representing the team as they prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Following introductions to the outdoor habitat and the other giraffes in the herd, those hours will be extended in the coming weeks.
It's a three-week-old female giraffe calf named Kinda, pronounced like "Linda." If you want to be one of the first to see her in person, head to the Brookfield Zoo on Friday.
