Zambrano Will Start Wednesday, Gorzelanny To 'Pen
Big news out from the Cubs on Sunday as Carlos Zambrano's much-anticipated return to the starting rotation has finally been announced. Zambrano will make his first start since April, 20th on Wednesday against Pittsburgh. Tom Gorzelanny will be the odd man out and will be moved to the bullpen.
Lou said that Gorzelanny was given the news, he wasn't happy about it. That's to be expected. In order to ease him into the roll, Gorzelanny will throw in long relief in his first few appearances.
While Lou Piniella said in his pregame chat with the media that Andrew Cashner was to be called up from Triple-A Iowa on Monday, the Cubs are now saying that move may be a few days away but could still occur during the Pittsburgh series.
