Zambrano Signs With Independent League Team
(CBS) Former Cubs ace Carlos Zambrano has signed with the Independent League's Long Island Ducks.
"He's an extremely talented pitcher with a lot of experience," said Zambrano's former Cubs teammate Jake Fox. "He is very exuberant. He is a good character for this league. He'll bring fans. He'll be a great addition."
Zambrano spent the 2012 season with the Marlins, going 7-10 with a 4.49 ERA in 132 1/3 innings.
