Zambrano Adopting Guatemalan Child
(CBS) Believe it or not, Carlos Zambrano has a soft side.
The South Sun Sentinel reports the former Cubs pitcher is currently in Guatemala finalizing the adoption of a young boy.
The boy's name is Kenneth and apparently Zambrano and his wife have been trying to adopt him for quite some time now. The couple first met him at an orphanage a few years ago while on a trip to build houses in Guatemala. Local law requires a certain amount of time to pass before children can be considered abandoned and officially adopted. That time has come for Kenneth and Zambrano is now finalizing the adoption.
The report says the Marlins plan on formally introducing their new pitcher when he returns from Guatemala in three weeks.
