Your Chicago: Davenport's On Karaoke Night
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Meet Alma Mendoza, a Chicago personal banker … and a karaoke queen by night.
Davenport's Piano Bar in Wicker Park is her home away from home.
"I moved to the neighborhood because of this bar," she tells CBS 2's Rob Johnson.
For Alma and her friends, karaoke is their passion. Alma is much more than a paying customer at Davenport's. She organizes karaoke night.
"I love to hear people sing. That's my niche -- I want to make someone a star."
Alma invited Johnson to hang out during a night of karaoke. The pair performed a duet.
Davenport's is open every night of the week except Tuesdays. Karaoke with Alma is on Friday nights at 10:30 p.m.
